The Acacia Centre is a 204-place centre which caters for high-care residents in a mix of single and shared rooms. The Acacia Centre consists of three wings: Waratah, Grevillea and the Banksia.
Each wing has access to gardens which is a favourite area for residents and their families to relax and enjoy. Special ramps have been provided for easy access into these areas.
The Centre offers therapy and recreational facilities. Each day of the week offers new and varied activities ranging from in-house fitness and craft classes, through to taking residents out to community events and activities.
Hairdressers visit on a regular basis and newspapers are delivered daily. Massage, aromatherapy and other natural therapies are also used and encouraged.
Residents can enjoy the garden in all weather in the central atrium, courtyards and undercover areas. Special morning teas and activities are held in these areas.
The many lounge and dining areas offer comfortable seating and the opportunity to socialise with other residents.
The Acacia Centre also caters for residents from Greek, Chinese and Portuguese descent. Respite care is offered at high-care level and residents with dementia are catered for.
The Acacia Centre is situated on the main bus 425 route to Sydenham Station and bus route 426 to the City, and is only 15 minutes walk from the Dulwich Hill station and 15 minutes drive to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Churches and shops are within walking distance.
